Von Trapp's Children's Costume For "Sound Of Music" Going To Auction

It’s being reported that some of the costumes from the classic movie are about to go to auction – with an opening bid of $800,000. Ok hold on right there! I love that movie to death but buying a bunch of old fashioned children's clothes for this amount? Hell No!!!



That sum is certainly not for the faint of heart (or pocket)!



On the 30th of April, a second set of the play clothes that Maria (Julie Andrews) fashioned for her socially stilted wards from the drapes in their Austrian mansion will be offered up by the Nate D. Saunders auction house. The costume department at 20th Century Fox appears to have made more than one set of these clothes, as another set of these costumes was auctioned at over $1.5m in 2013.
