This app is new and is called "Safe Trek" and is designed to percieve danger if the phone user lets go of phone.

The app is designed to make women feel safer when walking home alone.
Users hold the touchscreen of their smartphone until they feel safe again.
If they lift their finger they are asked to input a pin number to deactivate it.
Without the pin code the app then automatically alerts the police.
The app costs $3 per month and is currently only available in the US.
