We’re looking at load shedding from Tuesday through Thursday due to a “shortage of capacity to meet the demand”.
According to Eskom:
"The system is extremely constrained today and for the rest of the week. Any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to go into load shedding.
The good news is that Medupi started giving us power as of yesterday. In the midst of many problems and massive delays, it is nothing short of a miracle that part of it is actually working. The coal-fired power station “will pump 794MW into the national grid when it gets up to full power in three months time”, with a total of 4 764MW once all six units are finished in 2017.
